We are almost done adding an the CPU throughput stats to the hourly status report. I expect to update the stats page soon. A Java implementation would be great - but I don't plan to do this ourselves. This last week the rate has been about 17 P90 CPU years/day. For the last day and a half, you can see it has averaged almost 190 GFLOP/sec, or nearly 16 P90 CPU years/day. I might knock off a few digits of precision on some of the displayed numbers. Other comments? Now, if only I'd get the stats.html page updated... :-) Regards, scott From owner-primenet@dokka.maxware.no Fri Jul 17 08:34:12 1998 Received: (from majordomo@localhost) by dokka.maxware.no (8.8.5/8.8.5) id IAA02749 for primenet-list; Fri, 17 Jul 1998 08:34:12 +0200 Received: from grendelnet.com ([207.104.25.130]) by dokka.maxware.no (8.8.5/8.8.5) with ESMTP id IAA02746 for ; Fri, 17 Jul 1998 08:34:07 +0200 Received: from entropy.grendelnet.com (206-171-44-221-breca.grendelnet.com [206.171.44.221]) by grendelnet.com (8.8.7/8.8.7) with SMTP id XAA16716 for ; Thu, 16 Jul 1998 23:35:50 -0700 Message-Id: <199807170635.XAA16716@grendelnet.com> Reply-To: From: "Scott Kurowski" To: "primenet-list" Subject: MS Netmeeting for interactive PrimeNet support Date: Thu, 16 Jul 1998 23:36:20 -0700 X-Priority: 3 (Normal) X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook 8.5, Build 4.71.2173.0 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V4.72.2106.4 Importance: Normal Sender: owner-primenet@dokka.maxware.no Precedence: bulk Hi everyone, For one week, I'm experimenting with MS Netmeeting and have my system set to accept (chat-only) calls from the ils.business.four11.com directory service. I can take chat calls here between 3:00 and 7:00 GMT (8pm to 12am PDT) for GIMPS PrimeNet support, client integration development, or ideas. If this works out, I'll post this information more widely. Someone please give it a try so I can see how it works out. My machine is set to auto-answer, so if I don't reply to your message, wait a few minutes. [snip] > Are we in an upgrade frenzy??? Does the minion in charge of > configuration masnagement for this project need an attitude adjustment? Hi Truett, As PrimeNet's M.I.C., I instructed the server to e-mail software upgrade requests, for reasons cited earlier. Another reason is many people still using 15.x want to try to find a Mersenne prime, yet they do not read this list (nor the primenet@alvestrand.no list), nor do they regularly check the web sites. An upgrade request is sent the first time a 15.x program either updates the account info or finds a factor. Only one message is sent per account, and only if the e-mail option is enabled. The template for the upgrade request message is at: http://entropia.com/primenet/upgradeRq.txt > If I do get the "latest and greatest" -- will it last until Labor Day? Yes. 20.5M is far away, perhaps years. Regards, scott
